A knife-wielding woman attacked and killed a
mother of five children as she shopped at a
Saco, Maine, grocery store Wednesday.
Two paramedics already inside Shaw’s
Supermarket were unable to save 59-year-old
Wendy Boudreau who died shortly after the
freak 2:45 p.m. stabbing.
Authorities believe 31-year-old Connor
MacCalister stabbed Boudreau in the throat
during what investigators described as an
random attack.
A shopper who happened upon the crime scene
that afternoon saw a “massive pool of blood”
near the store’s frozen food section, he told
WCSH-TV .
The victim’s purse was on the floor nearby.
The store’s management kept the store open
for at least two hours before locking the doors
and hanging a sign that stated: “Due to
emergency we are closed at the time!"
MacCalister faces one murder charge and is
being held at the York County jail as of
Wednesday night.
Her criminal history includes one arrest for a
misdemeanor criminal mischief from April 2012,
according to records obtained by the Portland
Press Herald.
She lived at a group home in Biddeford for
adults with disabilities.
