
A notorious Boko Haram kingpin has been killed
by troops in an offensive operation to clear the
insurgents’ enclave around Kwatarha and
Torikwaptir general area of Gwoza local
government area of Borno state.
According to Col. Sani Usman, the acting director
of the army public relations, the terror kingpin
had been wreaking havoc in the area, Punch
reports.
He explained that the kingpin was gunned down
during a shootout with soldiers on Monday
afternoon.

Usman said four other suspected terrorists
escaped with gunshot wounds during the
encounter, adding that an AK 47 rifle was
recovered from the killed Boko Haram
commander.
